NILAI, August 13, 2023 – Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) students who are involved in operating an incubator bakery and cafe called Genba Bakery USIM were fortunate to receive entrepreneurial guidance from the renowned culinary influencer Khairul Amin Kamarulzaman, better known as Khairul Aming. This session took place at Genba Bakery USIM, located in Nilai Impian.
The collaboration, which began in August, involves establishing a direction for collaboration and brainstorming ideas about the bakery business framework with Khairul Aming’s assistance.
Furthermore, through this entrepreneurial guidance, the internet personality will provide instruction on business operations, commencing from the Research and Development (R&D) phase, encompassing business preparation, methods for delivery of products, and online marketing strategies. This guidance will prove advantageous for the 80 incubator participants, composed of Asnaf students.
Khairul Aming stated that the choice of Genba Bakery for this guidance holds significance, aligning with USIM’s Genba Bakery initiative, which aims to assist students in the B40 group in familiarizing themselves with the realm of entrepreneurship and discovering additional income opportunities during their time at the university.
Furthermore, he emphasized that this opportunity requires exposure to the mass market. As someone experienced in the same field, he was called to contribute to this effort.
Genba Bakery was previously granted a zakat fund sponsorship totaling RM500,000 by Maybank Islamic Berhad and has collaborated with USIM’s Waqf and Zakat Center.
Currently, two branches of USIM’s Genba Bakery have commenced operations, with one bakery located inside the USIM Nilai Campus, which was inaugurated by the Chairman of the USIM Board of Directors, Dato’ Seri Dr. Zulkifli Mohamad Al-Bakri on April 15 last year.
